There are excellent women in philosophy in every field and sub-field.
It's imperative to showcase these women at our conferences, not just
because they have important things to say but also because we will never
be able to attract talented young women to the profession in reasonable
numbers unless we can demonstrate in high-profile places -- and not
just idly say -- that professional philosophy is a woman-friendly
enterprise. Our goal should be to make the Gendered Conference
Campaign, which is currently critical to the health of the profession, a
thing of the past.--Nancy Bauer, (Tufts)
