The American Astronomical Society (membership (~7,000)) has been focused on the status of women in Astronomy since their Baltimore meeting in 1992. The AAS Committee on the Status of Women (CSWA) has been promoting the so-called Pasadena Recommendations for Gender Equality in Astronomy. Interestingly enough, CSWA maintains a webpage in which it lists quite a bit of data on gender ratios at conferences, including the names of the Scientific Organization Committee Chairs of the conferences.
