This morning I had to go to Rotterdam to renew my Brazilian passport at the consulate. It's a bit of a drag, as the only time I use my Brazilian passport is to enter Brazil – I am obliged by law to use the Brazilian passport if I have one. So all the bureaucratic annoyance got me thinking of this über-classic by Caetano Veloso, 'Alegria alegria', one of the first Tropicália songs (1967):
Walking against the wind,
No handkerchief, no ID papers [yes!!]
In the almost-December sun
Here I go
I know some people complain that I post too many Caetano Veloso songs, but hey, it’s been at least a month! So here is your monthly Caetano Veloso dose.
