On April 8th, in the discussion under THIS NEWAPPS POST showcasing a broad range of criticism against ALEC, Gordon Hull called our attention to the fact that Reed Elsevier actually maintained a board seat on ALEC.
On April 12th, Reed Elsevier resigned its ALEC membership "after considering the broad range of criticism being leveled at ALEC" (Reuters story HERE).
I know that a victory dance is somewhat misplaced: (1) Post hoc ergo propter hoc is not in general a valid inference, and (2) ALEC remains a stage 3 malignancy in the American body politic.
But small victories count for something.
