The Network of Sensory Research is an international research partnership funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. It organizes inter-disciplinary research conversations on the senses.
With the Philosophy Department at Brown University, the Network co-sponsored a workshop on the unity of consciousness and sensory integration at Brown University on November 5th and 6th. A report of this workshop, authored by Adrienne Prettyman, Craig French, David Gray, and Kevin Connolly is now available.
Discussion of five questions arising from the workshop is now open, co-sponsored by PhilPapers:
QUESTION 2: Are some of the basic units of consciousness multimodal?
QUESTION 3: How should we model the unity of consciousness?
QUESTION 4: Is the mechanism of sensory integration spatio-temporal?
QUESTION 5: How should we study experience, given unity relations?
