Yesterday, I expressed some confusion about the "Occupy Everything, Demand Nothing" phrase used by Hasana Sharp and William Roberts, in their brilliant post about the McGill crisis.
Today, a moving and informative intervention from Ethanfeldman, who was one of the fourteen students who attempted to occupy the Principal's office:
I was one of the fourteen occupiers.
Like every occupation movement, we had two goals:
first: to take the space and make it ours.
second: after attaining the first, we would have used the space as a constructive zone. That would entail forming exploratory committees, holding general assemblies, and maybe even generate some demands.

Given that we were attacked and riot police descended upon campus, we did not achieve goal one and could not move on to goal two.
