Have you? In hindsight, I don't know what really is more disturbing:
a) The General Editors' caving to Alvin Plantinga, who can apparently get respected journals to include papers by his buddies without refereeing, and boast about it in the NYT;
b) The General Editors' giving Beckwith a free publication in Synthese to recycle his nonsense;
c) The General Editors' letting Beckwith publish a smear article that blatantly abuses their disclaimer (and creates a nice performative contradiction on how concerns about "tone" can be abused without civility) in order to blacken the name of a courageous scholar, Barbara Forrest;
d) The General Editors' willingness to execute a-c behind the back of their guest editors (despite assurances to the contrary);
e) The General Editors' inability to frankly admit that they screwed up and apologize to Barbara Forrest and the philosophical community;
f) The unresolved/unexplored role of Springer's lawyers in all of this.
