Clerk Shaw calls attention to a fascinating exchange in the Journal of Nietzsche Studies. In particular, read this very nice scholarly detective work by Mark Anderson on an interesting case of less-than-generous-citation-practice in Nietzsche-biography-land. In response, Julian Young (who is the source of the priceless sentence in the title to this post), promises to rectify his "scholarly lapses" in future editions. As readers of this blog know, I argue that i) we need a lot more post-publication review of each other's work (here, here, here). We also need ii) to make the names of referees (and their reports) of published articles public, if only online.
