As some of you may know, I maintain a list of women working in philosophy of logic and philosophical logic, which is intended (among other things) to serve as a source of ideas for conference organizers looking for potential speakers. As some of you may also remember, I recently developed an acute infatuation for extended cognition and related topics, thus venturing into uncharted territory (uncharted for me in any case). One thing that struck me, though, is that there don't seem to be that many women working on extended cognition from a philosophy of mind point of view, is that correct? For example, in the excellent volume edited by Richard Menary which appeared last year, The Extended Mind, there is only one female contributor, Susan Hurley, who sadly passed away recently (if my memory doesn't fail me here).
So I was wondering if people who have been in the area for much longer would be able to mention a couple of names of female philosophers working in the area? This might lead to another one of my lists, depending on the amount of responses I get. So thoughts and suggestions would be much appreciated! For now, I can only think of Helen de Cruz, who is one of my favorite young philosophers currently. Any other names?
Thanks!
