Word from Paris of the death of the great writer.
UPDATE: 3 Feb, 17:25 CST. A nice tribute in comments from Alex J. Uri of France Télévisions:
The french overseas regions and territories lose one of their worldwide known greatest writers but also professors in the US. Edouard Glissant leaves us a monumental work to explore and meditate. He preached tolerance of differences and ...became popular for his theory of "All-World". He has also contributed to make universal, culture and people of the black world. While, in the United States, we celebrate the civil rights activists, we must pay tribute to those like Glissant, who have not failed to denounce slavery and its aftermath. Alex J.
