It is one my fondest hopes that this band will receive the reception they deserved during their original run. The song certainly fits our times as well as the period of its original release. And a bonus in this particular video is that you can see that they are playing through Black Flag's amplifiers. I hadn't realized that the two bands had toured together, though for some inscrutable reason Henry Rollins used to dedicate "I Can't Decide" to the Neurotics (inscrutable because there are probably forty or so Flag songs that are both better in their own right and closer in style to the Neurotics), e.g.
My friend and co-writer Mark Silcox thinks that the goodness of an era's music is directly proportional to the general level of government perfidy in the host country, offering 80's punk and then later grunge as key examples. But I think the aughts maybe disprove Mark's hypothesis. Mark suggests in conversation that this is just me having reached the you-kids-get-off-my-yard! stage of aesthetic development. It's quite possible.
