Yesterday, I noticed the line-ups to three announced conferences in areas related to my research (philosophy of science and its history):
I believe all three conferences are by invitation-only. I wish I could congratulate my friends that folk want to hear them speak. Instead I can't help but thinking, this is how a pattern of exclusion in philosophy replicates itself: 28 different men and no women in an area of study populated with excellent female philosophers. (See here for my analysis of the mechanism.) We can and ought to do better (see here). Why not sign up to this call for action?
