Call for Papers
1st Annual Meeting of the Society for the Promotion of Mad Science
The inaugural theme of the conference is Doomsday Machines, although papers in any area of Mad Science are welcome.
Conference Description: In recent years, research into Doomsday Machines has lagged, with more funding going to areas such as PSYOPS, ESP, Cryptozoology and biological and chemical agents. The organizers believe that a return to basic research in Doomsday Machines is due.
Plenary Address: Vice President Dick Cheney
We will select Keynote Speakers in each of the following areas, with panels of papers to be organized from peer-reviewed submissions from scholars in the field:
Igniting the Atmosphere
Reversing the Earth’s Magnetic Field
Splitting the Earth in to two or more pieces
Pulling the Moon into the Earth
Destroying the Moon
Destabilizing the Earth’s Orbit
Stopping the Earth’s Rotation
Extinguishing the Sun
Exploding the Sun
Moving the Sun
In addition, there are 3 open areas to be determined by the selection committee based on received proposals. The best submission will be awarded the lucrative Nikolai Tesla Prize.
