We have been discussing academic refereeing on NewAPPS, and I thought I might contribute a little story about an academic dispute. It's about me, and it is more or less irrelevant to abstract questions about the pros and cons of blind refereeing. And it's much longer than I usually post here. So it might belong in what Catarina Dutilh calls "the Department of Shameless Self-Promotion". But it's about academic politics and publishing. And my self-centred account may be mildly amusing to some. So indulge me, please.
